The Wabash Valley Audubon Society will hold its annual meeting and banquet on Wednesday, April 20th at the Native American Museum at Dobbs Memorial Park, 5170 E. Poplar St., Terre Haute.
The guest speaker will be Danielle Williams, Purdue University, Field Coordinator for the Hardwood Ecosystem Experiment (HEE). The HEE is a 100-year study begun in 2006 in Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood State Forests to improve the sustainability of forest resources and the quality of life of Indiana residents by understanding the ecosystem and human responses to forest management. Williams will share about this study and some of the project's specific findings on how forest management impacts the various wildlife species that call Indiana's woodlands home.
Social time starts at 6:00 pm with dinner catered by Piloni's Italian Restaurant at 6:30 pm. Members and non-members alike are invited to this event.
The buffet-style banquet is $20 per person and will be paid at the door. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required by April 18th by contacting Carissa Lovett at carissa.lovett@terrehaute.in.gov or 812-877-1095.
